A purpose-built dental hospital in central Bangkok with its own operating theatre and recovery rooms, designed around international patients

Last reviewed 11 July 2026 · How we evaluate
BIDH is where patients go when they want a full hospital setting for dental work rather than a clinic chair. Opened in 2020 on Sukhumvit Soi 2 and run by Thailand's largest listed dental group, it pairs 33 treatment rooms with an operating theatre, post-anaesthesia care, and in-patient rooms for cases that need sedation, general anaesthesia, or overnight recovery.

Our Assessment of Bangkok International Dental Hospital
BIDH earns its place for one kind of patient above all, the one whose treatment is genuinely safer asleep, whether through dental anxiety or the scale of the surgery involved. What sets it apart is not the building alone but the anaesthetists and nursing staff on hand, so a nervous or medically involved patient gets the same backup a general hospital would provide.
The hospital was developed and is operated by Dental Corporation Public Company Limited, Thailand's largest dental group and the alliance partner of Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC), the first dental facility in Thailand to hold Joint Commission International accreditation. BIDH was built to JCI design and sterilization standards from the outset, and the wider group carries ISO 9001:2015 certification audited under UKAS. An on-site dental laboratory and digital workflow support faster turnaround for crowns, bridges, and implant restorations.
The trade-off is that BIDH is a young facility, opened in 2020, so it does not yet have the decades-long track record of Bangkok's longest established dental centers. For most patients the hospital-grade setting and equipment outweigh that, but those who weight longevity heavily may want to compare it against older centers.

Accreditations, Verified
BIDH is a purpose-built dental hospital backed by an established group, so its credibility rests on hospital-grade design, quality certification, and specialist coverage. Here is what we were able to verify, with care taken to separate the hospital from its sister center.

What Bangkok International Dental Hospital Costs
BIDH sits at the premium end of the Bangkok dental market. You are paying for a purpose-built hospital setting with its own operating theatre, post-anaesthesia care, and in-patient recovery rather than the lower rates of standalone clinics. Even so, fees remain well below equivalent private dental care in the UK, US, or Australia, which is why international patients travel here for implant, surgical, and full-mouth work.

How We Evaluated Bangkok International Dental Hospital
Our dental hospital profiles are independently researched by our editorial team. No hospital can pay to be listed here, ranked higher or reviewed favourably. Here is what we assessed for BIDH.
These checks are desk-based. We verify against the issuing bodies' registers and the hospital's own published materials rather than a hospital-arranged visit, and no hospital has any say in what we publish. Read the full methodology.
We verified that BIDH is a purpose-built dental hospital with its own operating theatre, post-anaesthesia care, and in-patient rooms, rather than a clinic presenting itself as a hospital.
We separated the hospital's own status from its sister center, confirming ISO 9001:2015 group certification under UKAS and that JCI accreditation is held by BIDC, with BIDH built to JCI standards.
We checked that the hospital fields dentists across the relevant specialties, including implantology, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery, rather than a single discipline.
We looked at English-speaking provision, transit access near BTS Ploenchit and Nana, and trip-length practicality for patients travelling from abroad.
We assessed the in-patient recovery rooms, post-anaesthesia care, and nursing provision relevant to surgical and sedation cases, noting where patients should confirm warranty terms directly.
We placed the hospital within the Bangkok dental market based on its setting, infrastructure, and specialist depth rather than quoting facility-specific fees.
How we make money. Hospitals cannot pay for placement, ranking or a favourable review anywhere on this site. We earn a coordination fee from the hospital only when you choose to book through us, and it never changes your price. That conflict is why we publish our evaluation criteria and sources on every profile, and link accreditations to the issuing bodies.
If you believe any information on this profile is inaccurate or outdated, please contact our editorial team and we will check it against the source.
